I totally agree, they look great! In my opinion bronze-castings like these often can feel a bit... well, clumsy. But your friend have managed to get the pattern and the ornamentation extremely well-defined and beautiful.

Hello
Can anybody help me with foto of the sword from the Birka's grave 644 in good quality. Also I need as much information about this sword as possible: material of the blade (damascus, bandle or smth else) material of the icrustation, sizes of all details.
If it's possible, help me with this information.

Stanislav: I think the best way is to email them at the museum and ask for high resolution images of this sword. URI: http://kulturarvsdata.se/shm/media/22353 But as you have very specific questions maybe you should turn directly to Gunnar Anderson (viking age antiquarian at the museum) and ask him to take a closer look.
