(dateringen förresten av Litslenabeslagen, hur säker är den? Svärdet ser knepigt ut för rjä, men kanske inte samma fynd?...)

Jag kan nog i och för sig tycka att Vikingatidens ABC också ger uttryck för osäkerhet. n.b. "sällan"

Hursomhaver, frågan gäller inte vikingatid i synnerhet, jag är faktiskt mer intresserad av tidigare bältesanordningar.

Så här skriver Vikingatidens ABC om saken;

"B:s fria remända har sällan hållits fast mot midjan med en remlöpare som i våra dagar eller som också förekom under perioder före vikingatiden. I stället har remändan stuckits in under B. ett stycke från söljan och sedan hängt fritt ned, varvid det ofta ornerade remändebeslaget varit väl synligt."

Jag kan inte annat än anmärka att vartenda remändesbeslag sedan hedenhös ser ut som om det skall stoppas in i något... Romerska knappformade, nåltungor, tungformade, gotländska genombrutna julgranar, loopade vikingatida... Det är väl endast sådana där borrebeslag som ser lite knepiga ut att fästa någonstans, men nog kan man tom där tänka sig att man stryper djurhuvudet i någonting.

Remlöpare javisst, men mängden remändesbeslag är fjorton zillioner och remlöpare är sällsyntare än, än, ja relativt sällsynta i alla fall.

Så, idéer?
