En kompis däremot har byggt en som tar liten plats hoppackad, är bekväm att sova i och går snabbt att sätta upp. Genom att kanterna är runda/fyrkantiga/åttakantiga istället för plankor behöver man inte särskilt mycket gods i dem för att de ska hålla. Min kompis ska bygga en ny där alla trädelar är hälften så tjocka som de kanske 8 cm i diameter han hade i första försöket. Och då är den dimensionerad för två personer.<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">

Tycker det blir för grovt, jag använde 45x195mm i sidorna och 100x100 i stolparna på min dubbelsäng och det är för grovt, kommer att skära ner det rejält. Blir bara onödigt tungt. Siktar på 35x150 mm för sidorna och 70x70 i stolparna.

Allt handlar som bekant om tycke å smak å jag föredrar det grövre gedigna stuket då det ger mig mer själ och känsla. Jag lägger mindre tankar på tyngden då jag inte är ute i fält många gånger per år.
Har man bestämt sig för att släpa med sig säng spelar det ingen roll då det ändå krävs biltransport av tillhörande utrustning.
Å andra sidan är ju jag lite förmer som runristare[;)] så jag har ju som andra storfräsare på den tiden, råd att låta andra bära[:D]
Samtidigt är jag en spjälsängsperson å ger inte mycket för snören hit å dit å då faller det sig naturligt att ha bamsiga grejer[;)]

Den vinkelrätt snörda varianten som tar lång tid att tråckla ihop hittade jag heller ingen indikation på att man använt i fält. Samtliga jag fann var stationära sängar.

Både Oseberg och den förhistoriska (minns ej datering) sängen från en grav i Tyskland har spjälbotten. Detsamma gäller de väggfasta medeltida sängarna i Sverige och Norge (även brädbotten).

Finns det medeltida sängar bevarade som man vet använts i fält? Har jag missat någon källa?
Annars röstar jag för spjälbotten.

Sängen som finns i Vix första länk har många av mina kompisar. Den är inte jättepraktisk. Tar jättelång tid att sätta upp och gnisslar när man vänder sig på natten. Jag har dessutom inte sett någon medeltida förebild till den utan i mina efterforskningar har jag kommit till amerikanska västern.
