Meare Heath (med de mycket säregna lindade lemmarna) är 74" lång om man antar att lemmarna har varit symmetriska. Lemmarna är även väldigt breda, ca 2.6". Åldern för Meare Heath är uppskattad till ca 2690 BCE. Båda bågarna är funna i Somerset, England.

Det var det lilla jag kunnat gräva fram från TBB vol. II.
Som jämförelse med åldern så antas Holmegaardsbågen (den där lemmarna blir markant smalare halvvägs ut mot nockarna) vara från ca 6000 BCE.

Meare Heath har jag sett men jag tror inte att jag har sett Ashcott Heath bågen nån gång.
Ungefärlig ålder på dessa?

"The Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology in Cambridge will be exhibiting the orignal Meare Heath and Ashcott Heath bows, with replicas, in October/Nov. To anyone interested in ancient European bows this will be a failry rare opportunity to see these bows "in the flesh". "

Museets websidor finns [url="http://museum-server.archanth.cam.ac.uk/museum.html"]här[/url] men än så länge finns det ingenting om ovanstående listat under Forthcoming Exhibitions och jag hittar ingenting på siten i övrigt. Med andra ord är det bara ett obekräftat rykte än så länge.
