<font size="4">Forging with David Schütze</font id="size4">
The beginners course is designed for people who are faszinated by historical techniques of metal works but have so far not been actively involved in them. No pre-knowledge is necessary. You will learn about tools and their use as well as different materials, their advantages and disadvantages and about how to choose the right material for your purpose.
During the one day course you will be forging your own simple knife, harden and sharpen it.
David Schütze learned his craft in one of Germanys best forgerys in the Westwood area in the center of the country, where he lives with his family and runs his own workshop. He is specialized in replica and the reproduction of historical tools, weapons and knifes. David also works frequently in projects of experimental archaeology.

<font size="4">Plant Dyeing of Wool with Sabine Ringenberg</font id="size4">
It is faszination to see how the essence of colour, hidden in plants, is beeing fixed on fabric of wool or silk. What differences are in the process of dyeing in different materials? How ist he plant being treated to get optimum results in endurance and brightness of colour?
To answer those questions Sabine Ringenberg gives a beginners course in plant-dyeing. During this one-day course you learn about the basics of dyeing and you can also colour your own home-spun wool, if you wish. Otherwise wool can be bought from the teacher.
Sabine Ringenberg runs her workshop for more than 10 years and has specialized in koptic colours and experimental archaeology. She is also one of the initiators of the European Textilforum 2009 in September in Eindhoven.
