Sjufläta, menar du möjligtvis det som också kallas för isländsk fläta? Man delar upp trådarna i två grupper och lägger den yttersta tråden från största gruppen innerst i den minsta gruppen, upprepar sedan proceduren. Det blir ett slags slätt v-mönster.<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">

Just precis så! Det blir ganska fint när man använder två eller flera färger. Kommer traditionen mao ifrån Island från början? Om så är fallet borde flätans ursprung vara järnålder. Vet man om den användes som strumpeband under järnåldern, eller om det fanns andra användningsområden?

När man gör en viggfläta väver man in yttersta tråden i största gruppen igenom alla de andra trådarna gruppen och slutligen lägger man den till minsta gruppen. Det är ett slags tuskaftsband där varptrådarna också är inslag.

Så här skrev Martina om viggflätor i tråden "strumpor": "På sjuttonhundratalet använde man bandgrindsvävda band som strumpeband (lika illa som brickband när det gäller blodtillförsel!) men även viggflätor och diagonalflätor. (Breda band flätade av 13 eller fler trådar, väldigt lätt att göra.) Viggar är väldigt elastiska och då de förekommer redan i de danska mossfynden så borde de väl använts på 1300-talet också?"
