Både Massys och de Flandes målningar innehåller flera exempel på exotiserande dräkt (det är ju judar på bilderna) vilket gör det svårt att veta riktigt om man bar den sortens kläder på riktigt. Massys målning föreställer Salome och tyget ser inte riktigt realistiskt ut, men jag vet inte. På de Flandes bild finns också orientaliserande drag, som kvinnans turban, men jag är långt ifrån expert på detta. 1400-talet är ju den period när man på allvar börjar göra klädseln exotisk och allegorisk på målningar och ag brukar själv för säkerhets skull hålla mig till porträtt och stiftarbilder, men det kan ju vara lite tråkigt. Jag tänkte också på St. Barbara som ju skiljer sig väldigt mycket från Cranachs övriga damer. Egentligen borde du tala med Caroline Fritzon (som ju bor i Gbg igen) om det här, hon är ju konstvetare och har ägnat en hel del tid åt just 1400-talskonst från Flandern. Andreas har henens telefonnummer om du inte hittar det i telefonkatalogen.

Vad tror du om Massys klänningen? Jag har en till bild men den känns lite mer fantasy =) Holbein dy 1516 St Barbara. Ärmen känns ju igen där. På Juan de Flandez målningen är det ungefär samma ärm men den är instoppad innanför snöret kring handleden.

Snörning i sidan blir det alltså! Jag funderade lite på tillskärningen redan innan och om man har många delar under armen ungefär som Herjolfsnes no 38, 39 så kan snörningen komma att bli placerad ganska läckert lite bakom sidan. Vad tror du, Eva, om den typen av tillskärning. "Kilarna" har ju avsmalnande stycken som går ända upp till ärmhålet. Bilden jag har på sidosnörning är van der weyden ca 1440 "Annunciation Triptych". Det ser ut som den är placerad ganska mitt under armen men det jag fundrar på att tillverka är ju 60 år senare så...

ps Eva! Vi har förresten träffats =) Via Gotvik tror jag minsann, och hos Andreas någon gång. Men det är ju några år sedan och det är inte säkert du kommer ihåg mig...

Damen lite till vänster om mitten, längst ut på bänken. Tyvärr syns inte midjelinjen så bra men jag hittade en förstoring på henne där det syns tydligt att midjesöm saknas.

Juan de Flandes The Raising of Lazarus. Samma typ av klänning men bälte skymmer midjan. Ser sock ut som om midjelinje saknas på fallet av klänningen, tycker jag.

Quentin Massys 1507-08 St John Altarpiece (left wing) Lite annorlunda överdel på ärmen men samma typ av klänning. Här syns verkligen att det är en helt slät klänning utan midjesöm.

Jag har forskat vidare lite på orginaldräkter via någon länk jag hittade här någon stans och jag hittade två klänningar med snörning i sidan. Om jag gör det så är jag väl på säkra sidan men jag vill göra ett bra bakgrundsarbete innan denna gång.
