Men det med Bryggen lyder bekendt, og der var vist også billede af 2. 1 hel bandgrind og 1 der kun var den ene del af.

Men at den på nuværende tidspunkt er sat til omkring 1200 tallet, det vidste jeg slet ikke.

Uppgifterna är från Ingvild Øye, Textile equipment ans its working enviroment, Bryggen in Bergen c 1150 -1500. Där finns bilder på grindarna.

Så finns den lilla bandgrinden som hittades i Väskinde kyrka vid en restaurering. Den dateras till medeltidens senare del, med ett frågetecken. Den är också i horn, med orneringar som Bryggegrinden. 4,5 cm hög och 4,7 cm bred. En kopia i ene finns på bild på startsidan på www.textilverkstad.se. Den är perfekt att väva kanter med.

I et speciale fra Danmark, er der vist en bandgrind(spjældvæv) fra Bergen mener jeg, fra 900 tallet.
Den er i horn og ikke ret stor.
Jeg skal prøve at finde et billede.

Jag har aldrig stött på bandgrindsvävda band från vikingatiden. Detta behöver inte innebära att det inte finns, och även om det inte finns några fynd, behöver det ju inte innebära att man inte vävde bandgrindsband. Skillnaden mellan dem och brickband kan vara obefintlig, med brickor kan man väva med mer än två skäl, samtidigt som det finns tvåhålsbrickor som ger samma effekt som en bandgrind.
Överhuvudtaget vet vi väldigt lite om vikingarnas band, fynden är få och inte representativa.

Bandgrinden tros komma från Asien och den förekommer i hela Europa under medeltiden (bl.a. hos samerna). Äldsta europeiska belägget är enl. Gertrud Grenander Nyberg (Så vävde de) från Italien strax efter Kristi födelse.

Är det någon på listan som kanske grävt upp en vikingatida bandgrind/tvåhålsbrickor?

Använde man sig av bandgrind när man gjorde dekorationsband,
eller var det uteslutande brickband man hade till det användningsområdet??
