däremot har ja gen hel del broderande kvar....

Kan det vara det som brukar anses vara schalen du har i åtanke?
Vad det gäller stängningen fram så finns det både treflikar och andra spännen i fynden. I grav 954 på Björkö hittades t.ex. en treflik med bevarade fästöglor på baksidan. Deras placering visar att plagget de höll samman glipade en smula, men inte överdrivet mycket - textilrester tolkade som eventuella kaftanrester från gravarna 464 & 480 ligger över spännbucklor, dvs de senare har inte synts när plaggen burits stängda.
Utsmyckning - tja, sidenapplikationer förekommer frekvent - men det är "riktig" sidenkyppert, inte luddigt kardsiden som ibland dyker upp i vikingerisammanhang...

Men låna och läs Häggs bok - den är till viss del något föråldrad, men bilderna är bra.

Länkar, bilder etc mottages allra varmast.
Jag är nyfiken på modellvariationer etc. Några av "guldgummorna" ni länkat till har haft kappliknande kläder med luva på. Är det rimligt att göra en kappa med luva enbart utifrån det eller finns det massa info som motsäger det?
Var de "alltid" öppna framtill med en glipa för att visa klänningar, band, smycken etc?
Finns det andra knäppningsanordningar i materialet än de treflikiga spännena?
Hur var de utsmyckade? På bilden här på HV är kappan så vitt jag kan se i det närmaste osmyckad. Är det då mest korrekt?

Det var visst inte bara några få frågor när jag väl kom igång. [:I]
