Om jag tittar på Sunnivas bilder så tycker jag det ser ut som att man försökt efterlikna damastvävda tyger med de tryckta. Min gissning är att dessa tyger har använts mer som inredningstyger, men någon somv et mer får gärna invända...

Det "psykedeliska" tyget var jätteskoj! [:D]

Tygerna är uteslutande röda och blå med vitt mönster och skall härstamma från Indien.
"Samma arabiska ord anses också ligga til grund för en benämning som förekommer i isländska texter, gudvefr, vilken sammanställts med bl.a. anglosachsiska och fornhögtyska former: godwob, gotaweppi. Dessa tyger beskrives som "tvåfärgade" (tvilitadr) vilket ju överrensstämmer med de bevarade proven från Fustat. Röd fustan omnämnes i tvenne beskrivningar av historiska händelser som inträffade åren 960 resp, 1179: "Egil hafdi fustan kyrtill raudan" "Erlingir Jarl hafdi raudan kyrtill af fustani ok silkehufu"."

Jeg er ingen ekspert på tekstiler, men ble noe overrasket over å finne lintekstiler med påtrykket mønster (1300-tall), visstnok trykket med treblokker. Er det noen som vet noe mer om disse; ble de brukt til klær eller til interiørtekstiler, eller begge?

Jeg fant også noen helt syke mønstre på silkefløyel (er det void cut det heter?), fra 1400-tallet, Italia. Ser mer ut som 1970-talls syrepsykedelisk...

Bildene er dessverre av noe dårlig kvalitet, da det var dårlig lys inne i magasinet, og man jo skal spare gjenstandende for altfor mye lyspåvirkning.
