Sedan så måste de ha gjort något av allt lin de odlade vid denna tid. Problemet är ju det eviga med att lin är så mycket sårbarare för nedbrytning än ull i mossar. Lyckliga de i varmare länder med torrt klimat! Det finns ju mer eller mindre kompletta linnekläder från Egypten, bland annat en snyggt pliserad klänning från 2400 f.Kr.

Det blir nog även ylle så småningom, men jag behöver sommarkläder för jobbet på Ekehagen snabbt! Ett problem jag har är att jag är mycket känslig mot ylle om det inte är väldigt mjukt och fint, så jag får ändå ha linne under.

Föresten finns det en del roliga fynd av skinnmantlar, ganska många faktist, ihoptroklade av diverse lappar. En från Åsarp, där Ekehagen ligger, har daterats till 200 f.Kr. Bara ett tips!

Vad gäller skor så funderar jag på en romersk modell. Då vet man i vart fall från vilken tid skon är. Och limes var ju like mycket en kontaktzon som en gräns. Jag skall återkomma om detta dräktprojekt!

Lin blir først vanlig i bruk (i hvertfall funnmessig i graver) på 500-tallet. Lin forekommer ellers nesten kun i lerretsvev.
Sjekk ut North European Textiles until AD 100 og andre bøker av Lise Bender Jørgensen.

i boken finns både bilder på kroppar och bilder på kläder, om de haft några. om inte annat är det intressant läsning!

Den indeholder rigtig mange mosefundne sko fra nordtyskland/danmark. Dog er der ikke en god datering på dem fordi hun netop bearbejder en masse materiale der ikke kan dateres, eller i hvert fald ikke er det.

Min tanke var att sy ett par skor av romersk modell, och säga att jag har kommit i kontakt med romerska handelsmän eller rentav tjänstgjort i romerska armén eller stridit mot dem med Markomannerna...

Hur som helst så vill jag gärna ha förslag på länkar, böcker etc som kan vara till hjälp. Då dräkten är tänkt att kunna användas i pedagogiska sammanhang är det ganska viktigt att jag inte har attiraljer som är alltför långt ifrån den aktuella tidsperioden.
