Faktum är att många ärmar som smalnar av mot handleden och inte bara består av rektangulära stycken är lite asymmetriska i varierande grad (kika igenom de andra skisserna som finns på [url="http://www.personal.utulsa.edu/~marc-carlson/cloth/tunic2.html"]Marc Carlsons sida[/url], Herjolfsnes-dräkterna och The Gown of St. Elizabeth of Thuringia t.ex). Armar (med a) är ju inte symmetriska de heller, så ja, passformen blir ofta bättre.

Tycker det är svårt att föreställa sig det stora tänket på effektivitet och att minimera slöseriet som tycks ha funnits - idag är det ju bara slit och släng som gäller...
Är det någon här på forumet som återskapat en dräkt med sådana här osymmetriska ärmar och kan ge en åsikt om hur passformen och utseendet blir?

Raymund, en fråga till om kragelund-kjortelskissen du länkade till: är alltså ärmarna så osymmetriska fram och bak? Finns det någon teori om varför? Får ärmarna på något mystiskt sätt bättre passform?

En bekant till mig sade att om man klipper ut ärmdelarna på papper och flyttar runt dem lite, så bildar de en långsmal rektangel. Det kan ju varit det bästa sättet att utnyttja en smal remsa tyg och ändå få till en ärm som var lagom vid i axeln och lagom small vid handleden.

Finns det någon som åtar sig att sy vikingadräkter på beställning? Jag har en vän som är ute efter fyra dräkter från tiden vikingarna for till Konstantinopel. Har letat på forumet och hittat en sida för medeltida kläder, finns det någon motsvarande för vikingar? Som kurriosa, min vän skall ha kläderna till sitt segelteam när de tävlar i Turkiet.
