Mina erfarenheter är att det inte blir rent, man behöver tillsätta endel amoniak också. Kanske beror det på fårraser men svensk lantras funkar inte så bra för mig, men visst blir det halvrent i alla fall.

Åsas recept är det klart bästa men jag rekomenderar att man sköljer ordentligt före första tvättvattnet annars är tvättvattnet förbrukat på en gång.

Annars finns traditionen att ullkläder är så hygieniskt för de behöver inte tvättas alls, Ludde Nordkvists rekomendation efter hans studier av lort-Sverige för att förbättra den svenska folkhälsan, kan det varit i slutet av 1800-talet kanske.

Angående fibrer som kryper ut. De kryper snabbare ju styvare de är så bommull bör krypa långsammare. Man måste ha ett mycket tättvävt tyg för att fibrer inte skall krypa ut (t.ex. duntäta tyger) ett fodertyg hjälper till att hålla fibrerna borta från yttertyget.

Vix: men håll med om att det skulle vara urtoppen. Tänk vad man kunde tjäna in på all kemtvätt för sina kostymer av ull. Det lät lite för bra för att vara sant..: )
Så det gäller alltså bara obehandlad råull?

I Lise Warburgs "Spinnbok" står det man inte alltid behöver tillsätta något tvättmedel eftersom ullen tvättar sig själv - kaliumsaltet i svetten tillsammans med vatten bildar lut (alkaliskt) som i sin tur förenar sig med ullfettet och blir till såpa. Man får dock passa sig för "kalktvål", något som kan uppkomma om ullens egen såpa blandas med alltför hårt (kalkrikt) vatten - inget kul alls och hopplöst att få bort.

Vill man få ullen superren håller jag dock på Åsas beskrivning ovan!

Ättika har jag lärt mig att man ska använda i sista sköjlvattnet för att få klara färger och för att yllet mår gott av att torka i surt tillstånd.

Här en beskrivning ur boken vad man ska tillsätta vid tvätt av ull eller otvättat ullgarn:
Första tvättvattnet: - 45º - 10 min - 3 msk tvålflinogor + 1 msk ammoniak/l vatten
Andra tvättvattnet: - 40º - 5 min - 1½ msk tvålflingor + ½ msk ammoniak/l vatten
Första sköljvattnet: - 40º - 5 min
Andra sköjvattnet: - 35º - 5 min
Tredje sköjvattnet: - 30º - 5 min - lite ättiksyra

Man bör blöta garn/ull före tvätt, max 15 min vid 30º utan något tvättmedel då blir det vitare och luftigare.

nu har den galne riddaren beslutat sig för att överge linet till förmån för skinn.... hujedamej... hur ska jag kllara detta? Är det fortfarande en tapetserarnål som ska användas då? elelr bör jag hr en supergrov skärande nål?

Ammoniak eller ättika använder man i sista sköljvattnet för att neutralisera ev. kvarvarande såpa i ullen efter att man tovat, samt för att ge glans.

Det är ju inte bara lukten som skall bort, det skall ju bli så rent så att inte alla små kryp trivs. Det finns massor med små kryp som gillar smutsig, gammal ull.

Syftet med gamben är att ha något som ser ut som en gambe, har hyfsad funktion, men ändå inte så bra att jag inte känner slag från latexvapen. Gamben ska även tjäna till att bära upp delar av min rustning.

På detta sätt får jag något som ser ut och känns som en riktig utan att behöva vara en vältränad medeltidssoldat som utövat kroppsarbete på sädesfälten i 30 år.

Som mönster kommer jag använda mig av ett figuranpassat mönster likt en jupon/aceton som gått att se här på HV.
