Planerar att bygga en liten träställning att spänna upp väven i, med sykrokar i var ände, reglerbara med snäpphjul eller bara läderremmar som går att förlänga/förkorta.

När jag väver "runt ett hörn" så tänker jag att jag "ökar" genom att inte fästa i tyget utan att bara väva på som vid vanlig brickbandsvävning i tre-fyra inslag innan jag vrider tyget och fäster i kanten igen varannan gång.

När ni väver era fållar, har ni då plagget över eller under varpen? Jag fann det lättare att få en snygg avigsida om jag hade plagget under varpen, dessutom tyckte jag att det var lättare att hålla i och arbeta på det sättet. Gör ni likadant eller har ni kommit på ännu smidigare sätt som jag borde ta till mig?

Hur många trådar per bricka brukar ni använda? Hur många brickor? Vilket garn? Hur blir den färdiga kanten?

I mina provlappar har jag testat två brickor med fyra trådar i varje samt fyra brickor med två trådar i varje. I några av proven hade jag ett par iläggstrådar på avigsidan. Några har jag vikt in sömsmånen på och några inte. Garnet jag använt är ett tvåtrådigt (z-spunnet, s-tvinnat) broderigarn (ull) som är relativt grovt för att vara broderigarn. Kommer inte ihåg märkningen på det.

Det provet jag tyckte blev bäst rent visuellt var provbiten med fyra brickor (två trådar i varje) som hade två iläggstrådar på avigan. Det blir en ganska fin, jämn och stum kant. Problemet är att alltihopa vrider sig. Pressar jag så försvinner det. Alla provlapparna betedde sig på samma sätt. De vred sig ganska mycket men blev bättre efter pressning. Blir det bara så helt enkelt eller är det någonting som jag gör ojämt som framkallar vridningen?

Tyget bör var ett som inte repar upp sig - alltså lite valkat. Man kan kanske också testa att vika in kanten, smalt, och så väva över det invikta. Enda sättet att veta är att prova med olika garner och se hur det blir.

Jag tyckte det var bra att väva en liten bit på bandet innan jag började sy fast den i hättan. de första stygnen är klurigast, då kan det vara bra att ha ett litet band så att det blir enklare att få det lagom sträckt.
