Måste testa vad du skriver om Erik av Pommerns bälte, ger det annnorlunda effekter att detär vävt med 6-kantiga brickor i stället för fyrkantiga är det mycket intressant. Jag har aldrig hittat något riktigt bra att göra med 6-kantiga.

Det är samma komplicerade vävbindning i de båda bältena, men Dunebältet ligger lite efter vad det gäller mönsterrikedomen. Dunebältet har inte lika många, lika komplicerade mönster och saknar helt broschering med guldtråd som Erik av Pommerns har. Så även om jag själv tycker att Dune-fragmenten är mer intressanta än Erik av Pommerns bälte, så var det definitivt ett aningen mindre påkostat bälte. Samtidigt var nog Dunebältet också ett mer användbart och funktionellt bälte.

(Min personliga, nästan helt ounderbyggda tanke är att Dunebältet en gång haft samma färger som Erik av Pommerns - rött, grönt och blått.)

Vad jag är riktigt nyfiken på är vad för slags bälte resten av
bältesbeslagen i Dunefyndet har suttit på - de som ligger lösa... (under förutsättning att de inte grävdes ned på det viset)

Det er synd det ikke er, som du sa, gjort analyser av Dunebeltet under spesiallys (UV?). Jeg tror det kunne gitt grunnlag for et belte som er minst av Erik av Pommern-kaliber.

Har til gode å se noen publikasjoner fra Norge, men det kommer kanskje snart?

Det finns en helsidesbild på det bäst bevarade Dune-fragmentet i min artikel i NESAT X, i svartvitt. I appendixet finns ett analysblad av de 4 småfragmenten som inte är utställda i Guldrummet, med små bilder (svartvitt). Med i artikeln finns dock kompletta mönsterteckningar av Erik av Pommerns bälte och även en detaljanalys av ett av mönstren, i svartvitt och i färg i slutet av NESAT-boken.

Det enklaste (eller rättare sagt billigaste) sättet att få tag i NESAT X är nog bibliotek och fjärrlån. Den kostar £48 att köpa från förlaget:

Nu är jag visserligen lite partisk, men rapporten är faktiskt värd att äga trots det saftiga priset, åtminstone man gillar gamla textilier. Den är pintjock, med riktigt många bra och intressanta artiklar!

/Vix, som hävdar att de små bruna silkebitarna utan tvivel är det absolut mest spektakulära med Duneskatten [;)]!
