Den omtalade båten i Stockholm bör vara gravbåten från [url="www.historiska.se/data/?foremal=107470"]Årby[/url] i Rasbokil socken som är utställd på SHM. Det är resterna efter en liten, rank men ruskigt snabb roddbåt.
- Som Matti även påpekat så finns det annars, inom själva stadsgränsen ett antal senare fynd, främst från "Riksgropen" på Helgeandsholmen.

Annars finns det arkivuppgifter som tyder på att ett antal större och äldre farkost hittades vid grävningarna av Södertälje kanal i början av 1800-talet. Dessvärre skall de inte ha tagits om hand (vare sig träkonservering eller regelrätt arkeologi var ju uppfunna...) utan torkat sönder under arbetets sommaruppehåll varefter resterna eldades upp (har jag för mig).

Det låter fett i övrigt! Skulle vara kul med lite jämförelser med fynden från Kärringsjön i Halland, en offermosse där man funnit mycket träföremål och spår av matoffer. Räfsa, träspadar, svepkärl. You name it! Och även det mycket 300-tal!
Romersk järnålder och folkvandringstid is the shit, så att säga!
Nu tar vi och river vikingahallen och det bjäfset och bygger upp en 300-tals långhus med gårsbyggnader och en snygg smäcker Nydamsbåt! Jag vill rusta och resa ned till kontinent och få min sold ur kejsaren kista samt supa på värdshusen och skrika okävdningsord på latin!

Så det finns både det ena och det andra i den leran. Men jag antar att vi ska glädja oss åt det som faktiskt kommer upp. T.ex. 300-tals-föremålen. Menade bara att "mycket rester av båtar" är en underdrift i sammanhanget.
