Däremot betecknade det inte de folk som bebodde de brittiska öarna.

Åtminståne när det gäller de brittiska öarna har vi ju hyfsad koll på vad de olika stammarna faktiskt hette genom diverse nedteckningar (läs gärna Julius Caesars "De Bello Gallico", rätt underhållande, faktiskt. Berör även invasionen av Brittannien, dock inte Irland, då rå... Finns i översättning till svenska på biblioteket) varför det vore mer berättigat att använda de termerna.

Jag kan tycka att det ibland är ganska praktiskt att använda begreppet "kelter" i generella diskussioner i inte så akademiska sammanhang, men ska man diskutera de människor som bebodde Irland under en viss tidsperiod i en uppsats, vilken nivå det än må vara, bör man vara försiktig med att använda begreppet. Och om man väljer att använda det tydligt redogöra på vad man baserar sin terminologi och varför.
