Three-layers "laminat" steel with simple iron facings or damask facings...
There are some blades of pure damaskus about 300 layers + soldered sharp blade. Ask about every position.

<b>Notice</b> that the shank, handle is not weld to the blade, it's a single whole, the same damaskus. it's better becouse usually in our time smiths prefer to solder a simple steel shank... but it doesn't increase the price

these knife blades are 10-12 sm + 14 sm handle, as was usual for knives for Northern Europe of X-XI centuries. Longsaxes are 30 and 35 sm long + 14 sm handle. So - you can mount a transparent haft, unriveted on the end or - you can cut the shank as you like and mount a haft on glue...

<b>Prices:</b>
Price is 8 euro/sm for simple damaskus.
Blades made of tree layers (hard steel + 2 damaskus facings) or with soldered sharpings are a bit more extensive, 10-12 euros.

Because I was one of the persons e-mailing you, I can explain why. I feel it is best discussing business outside the context of discussing material, craftmanship and viking-age knives.

Your work is very good! It is nice to see fine blades. However, I think it might be a good idea putting fixed prices on the blades instead of charging by cm? Might be confusing for some.

hmm.. ok.

1. the 1st long knife is 200 euros. it's damaskus 350 layers + turned "vales" (don't know how is it in English).. ok - I wanted to say it's a bit of work there.

2. the 2nd long seax is 250 euros. it's damaskus 350 layers + welded sharp edge.

3. other knives are made as three-layer laminate steel with damaskus facings. they cost 90 euros.

4. the last four knoves are simply 3-layer laminate with iron facings.

5. else - we are used in Russia that sometimes price may fall a bit if a client may tell some reason so - wellcome.

all knives are made with a huge portion of soul & professionalism.
edges are made of constructional sorts of steel (the best carbonic steel) and have of course hardening about 48-50 Rockwell.
