Rules of conduct for the HV Forum

This is an open forum. There are no pre-requisites for registration.

The purpose of this forum is to be a place for the exchange of thoughts and ideas between people interested in recreating history in any form. Both discussions and direct questions will be tolerated within the forum, as long as it does not stray too far from either the subject of the thread or the profile of the forum. The forum admin and moderators maintain the right to control discussions, either by removing posts, locking threads or, ultimately, deleting an offending members profile.

The forum profile is mainly the Viking Age and the Middle Ages. If a question on e.g. 18th century clothing is raised it might be allowed if other sources are scarce. Questions on e.g. modern music or how to best teach a left-handed person to play the guitar will be promptly removed.

No posts may contain matters of a racist or nazi character. Furthermore, they may not be slanderous to any person or group of people, forum members or not. Offending posts will be removed.

Cross-posting:
Cross-posting, i.e. posting of the same message more than one forum, is not allowed. All posts/threads but one will be removed at the discretion of the forums admin or moderators.

Quotes:
It is not allowed to quote anything that violate copyright laws, e.g. entire articles or web pages. It is recommended that you pick a few short quotes to make a point and then make a reference to the source document for further reading.

Language:
The official forum language is Swedish but Norwegian and Danish is allowed as well in the main forum. Posts in English should be kept in the designated forum.
Quotes may be in any language but it is strongly recommended that a translation is supplied, either in Swedish, Danish, Norwegian or English.

E-mail addresses:
Since it is relativly easy for a robot to pick up e-mail addresses from the forum, no e-mail address may be written out in its common form, e.g. angus.maciomhair@cloudcastle.redherring.net
but should instead be converted into text as: angus dot maciomhair (at) cloudcastle dot redherring dot net
The only exception is when the poster decides to post his/her own address.

Questions to the forum admin may be posted to historiskavarldar (at) historiska dot se
