Hi,
I was reading about the Birka Girl grave at 'Object of the Month' (http://www.historiska.se/collections/ve ... 004_E.html) and was wondering if there were any close-ups or larger photos of her gilded brooch?

I've webbed a pic of the said brooch for you [url="http://www.birkahird.se/tinbl/brooch463.jpg"]here[/url] (mind it's a rather bad photo, but it'll give you a grip of the basic outline).

The brooch from Bj 643 belongs to Jansson's type II A and 20 other brooches of the same type and size (diameter 2,5 - 2,9 cm) is listed by Jansson in "Birka II:1" from 1984. If you follow this [url="http://www.birkahird.se/tinbl/brooch_IIA_analysis.jpg"]link[/url] you'll find a drawing of a II A-brooch from Bj 865.
