Var det uteslutande vadmals tyger som användes under 1500 talet? Eller förekom det andra?

Sen så undrar jag om man annu vävde på varptyngda vävanordningar så pass sent?

Linne, kamgarnstyger, sidentyger (mönstrade, flerfärgade, enfärgade)... Listan kan göras oändligt lång!!!

På vissa ställen vävde man säkert varptyngt - i delar av Norge levde den varptyngda väven kvar ända in på 1950-talet. Även samerna vävde varptyngt in i modern tid (se "The Warp Weighted Loom" - Marta Hoffman). Men inom den professionella textiltillverkningen vävde man på horisontella vävstolar.
